You've had enough pictures of me doing stupid things. It's time for more serious thought.
Here's a quick little story that highlights the complexity of U.S. relationships with democratic (or not) allies in the Middle East. In this case, what's the balance between realpolitik and moral responsibility? Discuss.

Oscar Night, My Favorite... |
Truth is, I don't give a rat's rump about the Oscars, or the blubbering speeches the winners give, or what poor lady committed the most heinous fashion faux pas. Do not care.
What I DO like is sushi. Big heaps of it.
And I like wearing a wig and chilling with the ladies.
(Everyone else was doing there hairs up right nice with lots of gel and rubber bands, getting fancy like them stars on the telly. Me? I couldn't do that on account of not having enough hairs. So I borrowed me a wig. It smelled funny, but sure looked sexy, eh?)

It Actually Snowed Last Night |
It doesn't snow often here in the bottom of the valley. It usually just sticks to the ridgetops. When it does snow down here it usually melts within a few hours. So it was bit of a surprise when I awoke this morning and saw this much snow...
And it was wet, heavy snow, so there were broken branches all over the place. The neighbors were out chainsawing one branch so they could get out of the driveway. I had to move my car because the huge branch it was under was bending dangerously. Here is what our street looked like...
This is our clothes-line thingy...
And, of course, all the local children were out playing in the snow. This smarty-pants is scooping snow out of the gutter using a plastic pitchfork...
And what am I doing to celebrate the snowfall? Yeah, you guessed it...
